Minutes of the April 21, 2015 meeting.

Present were Rebecca Cook, Jean Davis, Ennis Duling, Nancy Luzer, Jean Roberts, and Bruce Williams.

Meeting opened at 6:30 pm.

Minutes of the last meetings were read and accepted.

Jonas has completed the USDA grant.
We received both Hills and Hollows grants–$500 for the 3doodler and $5000 for furnishings for the program room. Stewarts awarded us $1000 for furnishings for the children’s room and Merchants Bank $1500 for the teen room. Neither of the banks we deal with, Citizen’s nor People’s United, gave us anything.
The Rotary Club is going to give us $5000 for furnishing the children’s, teen and programing room. They are applying for National monies for us.
Modern Woodmen are trying to get us $5000 from their national branch. The Vermont Cultural facilities grant is being filled out to help with the heating and cooling costs.

The tenant upstairs will be vacating the apartment sometime in May, according to Jonas. At that time we will need Vinnie to run CAT V cable to that floor so that Rebecca can set up an office. Jonas also signed a contract with the architect, Ralph. The first bill since then was paid out of the regular account, however all future bills will be paid from the Building Fund. Bruce will find out who is to be the paymaster of the project since both town monies and our funds will be used in the project. We need to keep our furnishing fund separate from the building monies. At this point the electrical, structural and mechanical engineers have all been in. Next step is receiving the information to put out bids.

Rebecca passed out the general fund sheet. All looked fine. Special accounts was fine. Our new website, poultneypubliclibrary.com is up and running with a link to our Go Fund Me account. It will cost $120 annually to be hosted. The website has a feed to our Facebook page, plus an events calendar, among many other things. The designer was Rob Fish.

The Building Account balance as of April 21 is $60661.86.

Circulation numbers were down, possibly due to this quarter being so cold and snowy. Patron counts are steady.

Book Sale will be held out in front of the library on July 3. May 16 is the last day we are accepting book donations.

Effective as of July 1, 2015, we will raise the overdue notice fee to $1.00 and the billing fee to $10.00 in a motion made by Jean D. and seconded by Nancy. All are in favor.

We made $200 on an indoor yard sale of random things from the cellar.
In upcoming fund raisers, the CCC is looking into an art event which may include a silent auction of donated art, music and valuable books. Andy McEachron will meet with the CCC and Shirley Theiser to discuss the possibility of a golf tourney as Shirley has done one for years in memory of her husband.
May 21 we will be getting 10% of all the proceeds from Subway of food purchased using a special coupon that we will hand out. There are both girls and boys varsity games in Fair Haven that day, so we hope to do well with that endeavor. The coupon will be handed out at the library and also, hopefully, in the newspaper.
